WayMix

Privacy policy

Last updated October 20, 2026

The short version

WayMix collects no personal information. It has no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking, it doesn't connect to any server of ours, and the sound it adjusts never leaves your Mac.

Permission to capture other apps' audio

To make an app quieter or louder, WayMix captures that app's sound, changes its level and plays it to your output. macOS asks for your permission first (System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording). The sound is processed in memory as it plays: it is never recorded, stored or sent anywhere. WayMix does not use your microphone.

What WayMix stores on your Mac

These never leave your Mac, and deleting WayMix deletes them.

Tips and WayMix+

Tips and WayMix+ are In-App Purchases handled entirely by Apple. We never see your name, payment details or Apple Account; Apple only tells the app that a purchase was made, so WayMix+ can be unlocked and restored. Apple's privacy policy covers those purchases.

Crash reports from Apple

If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your Mac's settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports and usage statistics about WayMix. They don't identify you, and we use them only to fix problems. You can turn this off in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.

If you write to us

When you email [email protected], we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use them only to answer you.

Sharing with others

We don't sell, rent or share information about you with anyone, and the app contains no advertising, analytics or tracking code from other companies. The only companies involved are the ones described above, under their own privacy policies.

How long we keep things, and deleting them

Your rights

Under the EU's General Data Protection Regulation you can ask us to access, correct or delete any personal information we hold about you (in practice, only emails you sent us), and you can complain to a data protection authority; in Italy that is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali. Write to [email protected] and we'll answer within 30 days.

Children

The app collects no information from anyone, children included.

Who we are

BeatsAround is run by Simone Alaimo, an independent developer based in Italy, who is responsible for this policy and for any personal information described in it. Contact: [email protected].

Changes

If the app starts handling information differently, for example through a new feature, this page will be updated before that version is released, with a new date at the top.
